What the Client wanted
Save the Children needed a revised version of their current 'Shops Toolkit' to enable employees and volunteers to gain the required information for managing and running their retail outlets.
This had to be done in such a way that people would actually use the manual, so it needed to be truly user-friendly. The current material being used required updating and re-naming with an easy to use structure and layout.
- To rename the current manual;
- Make it easy to follow;
- Allow Managers to be more independent and time effective;
- Cut down on Senior Management time;
- Increase cost effectiveness by reducing time used by Management.
What we did
- Devised a new name calling it the 'Retail Companion';
- Reviewed and restructured the layout;
- Delivered a final new publication within agreed timescales.
What the outcomes were
- The need for Managers to contact Senior Managers was reduced thus making both employees time more cost effective;
- Queries from branch Managers are easy to solve thus cutting down on previous frustration and increasing Job satisfaction;
- Managers are able to be more self sufficient which allows them to be more independent with the running of their individual retail outlets.
